Collected from Ancient, Untouched Native Forests

This honey is gathered from beehives placed in pristine, untouched forests. Flowers from various wild plants, such as Manuka, Kamahi, Lotus Major, and Clover, bloom in different proportions each year, creating honey that offers a delicate balance of flavors.

With a deep and complex taste and rich aroma reminiscent of the entire forest, this honey pairs well with spices and nuts and can be used in a wide variety of dishes and drinks.

How to Enjoy

  • Spread it on bread or pancakes.

  • Mix into hot or iced drinks for a delightful flavor.

  • Use as a marinade or dressing, or in baking.

  • Serve with cheese or as a sauce for meat dishes.

  • Combine with nuts or dried fruit, or mix into yogurt.

  • Helpful for soothing throat discomfort and mouth ulcers.

About Mountain Valley Beekeeping

Mountain Valley is a small family-run beekeeping operation located at the northernmost tip of New Zealand’s South Island, in Mount Richmond Forest Park.

The father, Mary, manages the hives and bees, while the mother, Nikki, handles the bottling process.

"Good honey requires the perfect environment, healthy bees, and weather. Other than that, it's best to leave it as natural as possible," Mary says.

Their honey is delivered in its purest form without high-heat processing or filtration, preserving the natural flavor, aroma, minerals, amino acids, and enzymes.

The particles visible in the honey are natural beeswax, which is safe to eat.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the honey tested for residual pesticides?

We test for residual pesticides on-site, and the test results are "zero".

How long can honey be stored?

Honey is known as a natural preservative and generally does not spoil. However, essential amino acids in honey begin to decrease after four years, so we recommend consuming it within four years of the harvest date.

Why are there differences in the condition of the honey? Does the taste change?

First of all, the local weather, the quality of the flowering, and the temperature during storage can affect the taste and texture of the honey.

Honey that has not been artificially processed is alive.

The differences in taste and texture are all the result of nature. Please enjoy it with peace of mind.

What’s the difference between Mountain Valley's two types of honey?

Mountain Valley Manuka Honey (500g):

Extracted from the flowers of Manuka, a type of tea tree, this honey has a strong antibacterial and antimicrobial effect. It has long been used as a remedy for throat and cough relief and burn treatments.

Mountain Valley Native Bush Honey (500g):

Gathered from various wildflowers growing in native forests, including Manuka, Kamahi, Lotus Major, and Clover, this honey offers a deep, complex flavor and rich aroma that changes each year depending on the balance of flowers blooming.

Both honeys are bottled without high-heat processing or filtration, preserving their natural flavor, aroma, nutrients, and enzymes.
