Kawashimaya Organic Koso Genmai
Organic Koso Genmai or Fermented Brown Rice is a brown rice that has been cooked with red beans and salt and then kept warm to ferment for 2-3 days. The biggest feature of koso genmai is the texture. Brown rice, though hard in nature, can be quite chewy and soft when properly soaked and kept warm for a few days. Truly a great food to eat for all ages.
For this variant, we use plenty of glutinous "Daishimochi "wheat from an organic farm, which is very popular with our customers. Enjoy the chewy texture of glutinous barley with skin, which is rich in dietary fiber.
This product is so loved in Japan that we’ve already sold about more than 50,000 packs of koso genmai.
World's First Organic Fermented Brown Rice Made Using Only Domestically Grown Organic Ingredients
We generously use Hokkaido organic red beans, which are considered to be particularly difficult to grow. By combining this rare red bean with high-quality brown rice and grains that can only be harvested in limited quantities, we have created a rich flavor that cannot be found anywhere else.
In order to complete organic fermented brown rice, we were able to provide valuable crops to the producers. Please try our very valuable organic enzyme brown rice and experience the difference for yourself.
Healthy And Ready to Eat!
We have carefully packed the healthy koso genmai so it is ready to eat without hassle and lasts a long time. Even though it is not added with any additives or preservatives, it can last up to 12 months at room temperature!
The efficient packaging can make our fermented brown rice for a lot of uses such as emergency food, camping food, or just for daily consumption.
How to Reheat Koso Genmai (Fermented Brown Rice)
Since the koso genmai is healthy and naturally made, it is great to be consumed every day.
You can eat the koso genmai directly from the packaging, but if you want to heat it up, you can use a microwave or warm water.
[Microwave] Heat in an upright position with the steam vent facing upward. In the case of 500W, it takes about 2 minutes, and in the case of 600W, it takes about 1 and a half minutes.
[Warm Water] Place the bag in boiling water and heat it for about 3 to 4 minutes without opening the bag.
