Due to the influence of the warm Kuroshio Current flowing into the Kii Channel, Tanabe City is blessed with a consistently mild climate with minimal temperature fluctuations throughout the year. The combination of high rainfall and abundant sunlight creates an ideal ecosystem perfect for cultivating both plums and shiso.
